INSTALLATION
- The AddOn software is compatible with FreezerPro 2012, version 5.0.13 or greater. It is possible to use the AddOn with both Standard and Enterprise edition of FreezerPro. The AddOn software is compatible with Microsoft Excel 2007 and Microsoft Excel 2010 for PC.
- The AddOn software is provided in a zipped folder. In order to install it, open the zipped folder and double click on setup file. Then follow the on-screen instructions.
- Once the AddOn software is installed, open Microsoft Excel – a new tab FreezerPro should be present in the menu toolbar, see screenshot below:
- Inside FreezerPro AddOn tab, click on Settings. Below is an example of the parameters entered into the Settings:
- Click on Check Connection. Once connection is successful, click Save. The AddOn software is ready to use.
USER INSTRUCTIONS
- With the Microsoft Excel (PC) AddOn software, a user can perform Import of the following FreezerPro objects: Sample records, Sample Source records, and Sample Group records.
- To carry out an Import, type the appropriate Headers and column entries, and then click Import icon. The entries into the Headers should exactly match the corresponding UDF names in FreezerPro.
- For the Quick Import of Sample records, the wells in a last opened FreezerPro Box will be used to store the imported information.
- It is possible to carry out Import Sample operation using only selected area of the worksheet. In order to do so, one must select the corresponding area of the Excel worksheet then click Import icon.
- To carry out Update Sample operation, in a worksheet a user should create a UID,BARCODE, or RFID column and the corresponding UDF columns, and then click the corresponding icon.
- With the AddOn software, one can carry out an Import of the Aliquot records into FreezerPro. ALIQUOT column with appropriate number entries must be present in the worksheet. Please see FreezerPro2012 User Guide for the syntax of the import file.
- For Update Sample Source and Update Sample Group operation, a user must provide a UID column for the corresponding object(s) and the columns for the fields that are being updated.
- It is possible to carry out Update operation using only selected area of the worksheet. In order to do so, one must select the corresponding area of the Excel worksheet, and then click Update icon.
- Inside the Templates tab of the AddOn software, a user can generate a header section needed for the Import or Update operations.
